Rollinsford is a small New England town located in Strafford County, New Hampshire. It is situated just 14 miles from the Atlantic Ocean. It neighbors the New Hampshire towns of Dover and Somersworth, and Maine’s South Berwick. Rollinsford was settled in 1630 and was a part of Dover Township. It was originally called Sligo. It was incorporated as Rollinsford in 1849 and was named after the Rollins family, whose ancestor was the first probate judge for the state. Textile mills were established in Rollinsford in the early 1820’s, and faded by the middle of the 20th century. The mills have been converted to art studios for painting, sculpting and handmade furniture.
