North Hampton is located in Rockingham County, New Hampshire. The town includes a short stretch of rocky coastline on New Hampshire’s Atlantic Seacoast. North Hampton’s Little Boar’s Head had become a fashionable summer resort in the 19th century. It is the location of Victorian and Edwardian architecture and boasts beautiful mansions. Fuller Gardens, which is part of the Fuller Estate, is located off the scenic Route 1A in North Hampton. North Hampton has been home to many notable residents. Henry Dearborn who was a Revolutionary War Officer, Alvan Fuller, a former Massachusetts governor and, Ogden Nash, a humorous poet. The town is home to Centennial Hall, which was built to mark the centennial of the Declaration of Independence. North Hampton also holds an annual celebration in June, Old Home Day, which features free summer concerts. According to the 2000 U.S. Census Bureau, North Hampton’s population at the time was 4,259 people. This included 1,671 households and 1,234 families. The average family size was 2.96 and the average household size was 2.55. North Hampton is comprised of 13.9 square miles of land and .5 square miles of water.
