Fremont Real Estate

Fremont is located in Rockingham County, New Hampshire.  It is located 20 miles from Manchester and 51 miles from Boston.  The town is crossed by the Rockingham Recreation Trial.  It is bounded by Epping on the north, Danville and Sandtown on the south, Chester on the southwest, and by Raymond on the wests.

Fremont was originally part of Brentwood, known as Poplin.  The name was changed to Fremont in 1854, and was named after General John Fremont.  It is home to Fremont Station, Lyford Crossing and the Old Meetinghouse, built in 1880 and listed on the National Register of historic places.

Fremont was well known for it growth of hardwoods, which were used for ship’s masts.  Later, the woods were used for home construction.  Fremont was also home to the largest brickyard in New Hampshire, and to the barrel manufacturing company, Spaulding and Frost Cooperage. 

According to the 2000 U.S. Census Bureau, Fremont’s population at the time was 3,510 people.  This included 1,165 households and 983 families.  The average family size was 3.2 and the average household size was 2.99.  Fremont is comprised of 17.2 square miles of land and 0.2 square miles of water. 

Fremont Real Estate and Homes:  In 2000, there were 1,201 homes and an average of 70 homes (houses / condos) per square mile.  In 2007, it was estimated that real estate in Fremont was comprised of a total of 1,507 homes.  This included 1,194 single-family homes and 219 multi-unit homes.
