Chesterfield is located in Cheshire County, New Hampshire. It includes the villages of Spofford and Spoffard Lake. It is bordered by the Connecticut River on the west, and lies entirely within the Connecticut River watershed. Chesterfield contains 45.6 square miles of land and 2.0 square miles of water. Chesterfield was incorporated in 1752, and named after the fourth Earl of Chesterfield, Philip Stanhope. The town was once home to manufacturing, including spinning wheel part and hand tools. It contains some of the best farmland in Cheshire County. Chesterfield Real Estate and Properties: In 2007, it was estimated that Chesterfield’s real estate was comprised of 1,807 total homes.
